Mrs. Belle Titus Barton, 87, of 203 South Genesee St., Montour Falls, died Monday, Nov. 5, 1962 after a long illness. She was the widow of the late George F. Barton, founder of the Seneca Engineering Company, who died in December 1948. Mrs. Barton was born Dec. 2, 1875 at Glenmoore, N.J. She had been a resident of Montour Falls since 1902. An ardent golfer and flower grower, she was a pioneer in the Suffragist movement. She was long active in the Schuyler County Elmira College Club, the Ithaca Garden Club and the old Village Improvement Society. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Barton Hall of Alpine, RD; Mrs. Ruth B. Woodward of Watkins Glen; sons, George T., Irving T., and John T. Barton of Montour Falls. Interment will be in the Barton family Masuleum in the Montour Cemetery.
