On the 1870 Pittsburgh Ward 15, Allegheny, PA census, I found steel worker Benj Cateley, 35; Rebecca Cateley, 33; Amos Cateley, 16; Eva Cateley, 7; Chas W Cateley, 5; Albert H Cateley, 3 and Benj Cateley, 1. They were all born in England, except for youngest son, Benj, born in Pennsylvania.

On the 1880 Pittsburgh, PA census, I found Steel factory worker Benj Catley. 45; wife Rebecca, 43; daughters/sons: Eva, 17; Chas, 13; Albert, 11; BENJ, 9 and Lily, 5, all born in England, except last two in PA.

Pittsburgh, PA Marriage License #12217, to Benamin Catley, Jr., born 11 Apr 1867 in Pittsburgh, a laborer and Sarah Llewellyn, daughter of Enoch Llewellyn, born 31 Oct 1868 in Luzerne Co., PA, both residing in Ward 12, Pittsburgh, married 28 Aug 1888.

On the 1900 Pipe Creek Twp., Madison Co., IN census, I found general blacksmith Benjamin Catley, 30, Apr 1870, married 13 years to wife Sarah Catley, 32, Oct 1867; daughter/sons: Rebecca, 11, Feb 1889; Enoch A., 9, Nov 1891 and Benjamin, 4, Feb 1896, all PA born, except for Enoch in IL.

I haven't found them on the 1910 census.

On the 1920 Butler, Hancock, WV census, I found widow and laborer Sarah A Calley, 51; daughters/sons: Mary, 14; Howard, 12; Loretta, 23 and railroad fireman Benj, 21, all PA born, except Loretta, born in OH.

Also on the 1920 Pittsburgh Ward 2, Allegheny, PA census I found candidate, single produce huckster Benjamin Cathey, 50 rooming with widow Murphy family

On the 1930 Hollidays Cove, Brooke, WV census, I found steel mill blacksmith Benjamin F Catley, 60; wife Sarah Ann Catley, 60; son in law and steel mill rougher, Wallace O Fetty, 27; daughter Mary J Fetty, 25 and roomer Margaret Rust, 21. All PA born, except for son in law and roomer, OH born. Benjamin's parents were both born in England and Sarah's were both born in Wales..

Some of his children are named after his siblings.

Benjamin F Catley was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on 11 Apr "1868," to Benjamin F Catley, Sr., born in England and "Sarah Ann Llewellyn, born in Scranton," PA (sic). (Sarah Ann Llewellyn was his wife, the wrong Sarah). He was an industrial blacksmith. He died on 26 Feb 1944 at 5:05 PM, in Warrensville Twp., Cuyahoga, Ohio at the City Infirmary where he lived for the past 3.5 years. The cause was 3 days of bilateral bronchial pneumonia, which was due to Cardiovascular disease and Arteriosclerosis. He was widowed by Sarah Ann. The informant was E A Catley of 7208 Finance St. Benjamin was buried on 1 Mar 1944 in Weirton, WV. Ohio Dept. of Health, Columbus, Certificate of Death. Shared by Peggy Rocchio.
