George Armbrust was the son of John and Mary (Schweitzer) Armbrust. He was born in Alsace and immigrated to America in 1839 with his parents and 3 brothers. He married Catharine Fix (daughter of Bernard and Catharine (Ball) Fix) on 13 Jul 1865 in Muskingum County, Ohio. They were the parent of 8 children: Mary, Joseph, George, Clara, Henry, William, Nicholas and Catherine.
NOTE: Both George and Catharine's death certificates note place of burial as St Thomas Cemetery, however their graves are located in Mt Olive Cemetery.
