William and Louisa settled on the Atkins place where Louisa was born and had grown up. It is said that she never stepped out of the yard where she was born.

"They (Louise and William) settled on the Atkins old home pace, and one odd thing about her was that she was born, grew to womanhood, married, reared her family, lived to old age and died, May 28, 1920, and her home was never outside of the yard in which she was born."
