Mary "Joy" Glenn Presnell, age 86, of Sugar Grove, died August 18, 2015 at Life Care Center of Banner Elk. She was born May 12, 1929 in Watauga County. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She worked for a number of years for the Project on Aging as a cook.
She is survived by four daughters; Eunice Hicks and husband Jim of Sugar Grove, Linda Parlier and husband Jackie of Mountain City, Tennessee, Shirley Ellison and husband Robert of Deep Gap, and Theresa Cox and husband Chris of Boone, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harmon Presnell, one brother, Jimmy Allen Presnell and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Wilson. Burial in the Antioch Cemetery.
