Winfield Scott and Minerva Ann Alspaugh Putman were the parents of Estella G. Putman Hinton Morris, Lottie M. Florence, John, Timothy Logan, and Berda May Richard.

From "The Van Wert Daily Bulletin," September 30, 1930:
At the beautiful country home of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Putman of Liberty Twp., a very appropriate and beautiful celebration of the 50th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Putman was held Sunday. There were about 65 present. Some very elaborate presents were given to the parents by the children. The following were present from Van Wert: Mr. and Mrs. F.M. Putman, Mr. and Mrs. D.H. Whitmore, Mrs. F.M. Shaffer, Mrs. Sarah Hurraw, Myra Murphy and Mary Putman."

Obituary in the "Lima News," Lima, OH, Friday, 26 April, 1935:
Winfield S. Putman, 81, father of Mrs. D.W. Morris and Mrs. May Richard, both of Lima, died Thursday night at his home in Ohio City. He had been ill for the last ten weeks. Surviving are one other daughter, Mrs. David Florence of Ohio City and two sons, Logan Putman of Ohio City, and T.L. Putman of Elkhart, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Zion Church in Ohio City. The Reverend Mr. Braggs will officiate."
