Anna M. Engfer, daughter of Albert and Johanna Engfer, was born August 22, 1892. She was baptized and confirmed in Saint Mark's Lutheran church in the Paullina vicinity. She attended the rural schools in this are, and ended her educational career when she was appointed a registered nurse.
She had resided in the Long Beach, California, area the past thirty years, and had been in failing health the past two months. On Tuesday, February 26, she passed away at the hospital in Long Beach. She attained the age of 72 years and six months.
Survivors include a brother, Otto Engfer of Cherokee; two sisters, Mrs. Ricka Mews of Calumet and Mrs. Harry Bloodgood of Paullina; three nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services were held Friday, February 19, at Zion Lutheran Church. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery.
