Charlie Lee CL "Buddy" Adair, 88, a resident of McCrory, Arkansas, formerly of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Friday, October 25, 2013. He was born on Nov. 19, 1924, in Ripley, Mississippi, the son of Mancel Lee and Martha Ellen Simpson Adair. He married Miss Marie Kirby on Oct. 30, 1943.
Buddy was a member of Fair Oaks Baptist Church and worked as a farm laborer most of his life. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, visiting with is children, grandchildren and great grand-children. He was a good father and a compassionate and generous man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Adair was preceded in death by his parents, wife, eight brothers: J.C. Donahue, Curtis Donahue, Paul Donahue, Richard Donahue, Mancel Wade Adair, Travis Adair, Daniel Adair, Willard Adair, four sisters: Sybil Adair, Lonette Oldham, Ruth Adair, Effie Gonzales.
Charlie is survived by two daughters: Patricia Cross and husband Dennis of Hickory Ridge, Arkansas, Brenda Kifer and husband Tommie of Kennett, Missouri, one brother: Marcus Adair of Mountain View, Arkansas, four sisters: Jewell Davis of Senatobia, Mississippi, Everland Adams of Greenwood, Mississippi, Ruby VanDeryt of Naranja, Florida, Erlene Stack of Valparaiso, Florida, five grandchildren: Angela King, Janet Fugate, Rhonda Andrews, Amy McDaniel, Tommie Kifer, Jr., and seven Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Thompson-Wilson Wynne Funeral Home. Interment was in Lewis Cemetery, in Hickory Ridge. ~~~ JONESBORO SUN, Oct. 27, 1013
