R.M. Gaines was called Red or Uncle Red by most that knew him. He and Lottie had no children of their own. However they did help raise a great nephew, Sammy Sims, and a great niece Lottie Sims. Both these where Sylvia Isbell Sims children. Red owned a grocery store and service station in Paris Texas as one time. He and Lottie helped run the Country Club in Paris also.
