Ezra Ross Nebeker SOUTH OGDEN – On Wednesday, October 29, 2008, Ross left his earthly state and met his family and loved ones on the other side of the veil. He was born in Tremonton, Utah on December 13, 1921 and was the second son and child born to Ezra William and Mary May Korth Nebeker. He graduated from Box Elder High School and was the last living male graduate of his graduating class. He joined the U.S. Air Force (Army Air Corp) and proudly served his country during World War II from 1943-1946 in Europe and England. Ross married his long time sweetheart, Lucille Chugg, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 23, 1946. He worked many years in the sheet metal department at Hill Air Force Base and retired from there in 1973 as a manager. Ross was a jack of all trades. He built the family home, the first family ski boat and camper. He was always ready to help anyone with anything. His specialty was building, remodeling, and woodwork. He had a fun sense of humor, always teasing kids and grandkids. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many leadership positions and was a Scout Master for many years. His pride and joy was his family. Surviving are his wife Lucy of 63 years; four children, Joan Nebeker (Miky Baide), Neil (Leslie) Nebeker, Lori (Carl) Case, Carol (Stuart) Smith, 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and many “adopted grandchildren”. He also leaves behind two sisters, Mary Lou Rhees and Nola May (Grant) Young. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Ferron, Richard, Ned, and Don, all of whom had the same sense of humor. Dad, we love you and weÂ’ll miss you. Always remember, donÂ’t smoke any pot or your name is. . .MUD. And you KNOW when we sing Happy Birthday it will be loud enough for you to hear. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at LindquistÂ’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Aultorest Memorial Park, where Military Honors will be accorded.
