Rodney E. Weed, 81, of Wallingford, beloved husband of 25 years to May E. Puffe Weed, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at their home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Stamford, May 16, 1927, a son of the late William A. and Louise Frobel Weed, he had been a Meriden resident for many years. Rodney was a graduate of Meriden High School Class of 1944 and served with the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Shaw Sinon Post No 73, a member and former Trustee of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Wallingford Lodge No. 1365, and the Carpenter Union, Local No 24 all of Wallingford.

Besides his wife May, he is survived by his son, Bruce Weed of Wethersfield; his daughter, Cheryl Sperry of Northampton, MA; two stepsons, David Nash and Ronald Nash and a step daughter Lori Nash; two grandsons, Sean Crawford of Los Angeles, CA and Brian Weed of Wethersfield; a step granddaughter, Stacy Iverson; a step grandson, Tyler Iverson; a sister, Lois Gatie of Weymouth, MA; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Eugene Seitlinger of New Smyrna Beach, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Frobel Weed.

At Rodney’s request, there will be no calling hours. A private family interment will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Meriden at a future date.
