Uncle George was born to poor Lithuanian immigrants. He also went by George Pasnokas, and finally George Clemens when his father because a US citizen in April 1918. He crisscrossed the US with his parents until they settled in Lafayette, Colorado. He served in 3 militaries: Navy pre WW2, Army WW2, Coast Guard, and then the Merchant Marines. He never married.
