Judge Snyder was born in Belleville June 29, 1858, a son of the late Circuit and County Judge and Mrs. William H. Snyder, nee Jane Champion. He resided in Belleville all his life. Twenty-seven years ago Monday he was united in marriage with Miss Ada Jones at Pensacola, Fla., having passed away on the eve of his wedding anniversary. His life-long occupation was devoted to the practice of law.
Mr. Snyder was a writer of rare ability and often wrote on subjects of historical and political interest. He was equally well versed in music and was considered a musical critic. Many of his contributions appeared in the columns of the News Democrat.
He took an active interest in the activities of the Philharmonic Society of which he was a prominent member. He was also an honorary member of the musical union.
The illustrious deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Snyder, secretary of the local Red Cross office, and one daughter:

J. Nick Perrin will deliver the funeral oration at services which will be held from the Bux & Co. chapel at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Interment will in Green Mount Cemetery.
