David Gerard Morse, Sunrise July 13, 1967. Sunset Oct. 31, 2013. David Morse, 46, of Las Vegas, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at his home in Henderson.

He was born July 13, 1967, in New Orleans. Born and raised in New Orleans, David moved with his family in 1980 to Maplewood, N.J. He graduated with the class of 1984 from Columbia High School. He moved to Las Vegas with his mother, JoAnn in 1994 after the passing of his father, Ancel, in January 1993.

David worked as a stock clerk for both Pathmark and A&P supermarkets, store security for Ross and in general construction.

He enjoyed camping with his family and fishing with his older brother, Joe. His favorite hobby was keeping tabs on the weather, he especially loved the snow. David was a huge fan of Sylvester Stallone, especially the "Rocky" franchise. He also possessed a terrific knowledge of his favorite Hollywood actors and films along with a keen memory for dates.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ancel V. Morse; and mother, Jo Ann B. Morse. David is survived by his brothers, Joey Ancel Morse and Michael Anthony Morse, both of Las Vegas; sister, Sharon M. Dixon of New Orleans; two nieces, Jennifer Dixon of New Orleans, and sister, Brittany Lund of Salt Lake City; two grandnieces, Caydence Lund and Hayley Lund, husband to niece, Brittany; and nephew-in-law, Spencer Lund, also of Salt Lake City.

Private family services were previously held at noon, Thursday, Nov. 14, at Lake Lawn Cemetery in New Orleans. Celebration of life for friends and family will be at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Onyx Theater, 953 E. Sahara Ave. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate your donations to support the St. Therese Center of Las Vegas.
