COLUMBIANA - Donald J. "Jim" Firestone, 85, of Columbiana, died at 4:52 a.m. Thursday at the Salem Regional Medical Center.

Born Feb. 19, 1930, in Columbiana, a son of the late Walter and Thelma Mentzer Firestone.

Mr. Firestone served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He had been employed as the Assembly Floor Supervisor at the former NRM Company in Columbiana. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Columbiana.

His wife, the former Barbara L. Toland, whom he married Dec. 31, 1951, preceded him in death Sept. 26, 2013.

He is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Thomas) Himes, Cindy (Frank) Leonard both of Columbiana and Kimberly (Keith) Rees of Sterling, Va.; three sisters, Doris Chapman, Becky Harrold and Carole (Gary) Wright; a brother, William (Janet) Firestone of Sidney, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held at the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home in Columbiana. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
