She was a homemaker. At one time, she worked at the University of Pennsylvania and Riegel Paper Corp. Elinor enjoyed traveling, going on cruises, sewing, playing piano, sketching, gardening, reading, and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Frenchtown American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the Matron of Order of the Eastern Star.
Daughter of the late Jacob Ray and Charity (Blackburn) Hillegass, Elinor is survived by her two sons Bruce Robbins and his wife Charlotte of Jacksonville, FL, and Philip Robbins and his wife Charlene of Newport, PA, her daughter Kimberly Freed and her husband Mark of Cyprus, TX, her five grandchildren Christine, Peter, Joshua, Jasmine, and Olivia, and her great-grandchild Payce. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Eugene Robbins in 1990, her son Kevin Robbins, and her sister Mary Ellen.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 12 PM at the Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Hatfield, PA. Arrangements are under the care of the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Road, Milford, NJ.
