Mrs. Marshall R. Cagley
Mrs. Marshall R. Cagley, 71, of 709 W. Park Ave., died at 4:30 a.m. Monday at her home following a stroke.
She was a member of First Methodist Church and the Women’s Society of Christian Service of the church, and also of Daughters of Union Veterans.
She was born Edith Marion Laird June 6, 1883, at Nashua, the daughter of John and Margaret Tannahill Laird. She graduated from the Nashua High School in 1901.
She was married to Marshall R. Cagley, who survives her, on July 13, 1904, at New Hampton. The couple celebrated its golden wedding anniversary last year.
Surviving in addition to Mr. Cagley are three daughters Miss Evelyn Cagley, at home, Mrs. Wanda Knapp, 1535 W. 2nd St., and Mrs. Marian DuBuisson, Longmeadow, Mass.; four sons, Ray L., 417 Terrace Dr., Arnold L., 726 W. 1st St.; Richard M., 2218 Franklin St., Cedar Falls, and Leo W., Balboa Heights, Canal Zone; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Andrew J. Laird, Nashua.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Marlyn, in 1940, and a grandson.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of First Methodist Church, the Rev. Fred E. Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
The body will be taken from O’Keefe and Towne Funeral Home of the church at noon Wednesday.
