FARGO, NORTH DAKOTA - Douglas Allen Legler, 85, of Fargo, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, at Sanford Medical Center.

He was a longtime driver for Nash Finch, later working in vending machine repair, and painting farm equipment.

He was an avid singer, and once placed second in a talent show. He was a fan of country music, especially the music of Ernest Tubb . He loved cars and took occasional trips to a casino.

He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly, 17 years earlier, and his girlfriend, Renee, last fall. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Legler Stoll, who considered her father a good-natured jokester and prankster, with a great sense of humor and very lighthearted.

Despite the brevity of his obituary, Mr. Legler lived a rich and full life. His daughter, Janet, said what really defined her father was his ability to laugh and make others laugh. He was very quick-witted, funny, and had a heart of gold. His daughter said he was one of a kind.
