Francis Williams
October 28, 1936 – June 27, 2015

Francis Williams, age 78 of Monroe, died 2:07 p.m. Saturday at Serenity Homes in Holland, Michigan. He had been in poor health for two years.

Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Terry Braden and Rev. Joe Bryant will officiate. Burial will follow at Rath Cemetery, Raisinville Twp.

Born October 28, 1936 in Union County, Tennessee, he was the son of Rob and Lora (Toliver) Williams. He married Mary A. Keck on May 21, 1956 in Union County.

Francis worked for several Monroe area companies including Mignano Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator, retiring in 2004.

Francis was a member of Union Street Missionary Baptist Church. An overall mechanic and handyman, he was always first in line to lend a helping hand. His family was very important to him. He enjoyed spending time with them, especially looking forward to the Sunday family dinners. But most of all, the love for his wife was foremost in his life.

Francis is survived by his wife Mary of Monroe; three children, Ken (Linda) Williams of Ocala, Florida, Denny (Connie) Williams of Adrian, Michigan, and Patrice (Rick) McCarty of Pullman, Michigan; Three sisters, Anne (Dennis) Johnston of Kokomo, Indiana, Jewell (Jackie) Keck of Kokomo, Indiana, and Mildred (Odra) England of Monroe; 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Francis was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Erby and Hayes Williams; and a sister, Georgette Collins.
