The husband of Margaret Graham. They attended Tinkling Spring meeting house or church, records of their youngest son Robert, can be found there. He was born on July 7, 1743.
I have information concerning parents, but not able to substantiate data at this time.
Many of his line migrated to Kentucky, but he being elderly and in poor health, he stayed in Rockbridge and his son James cared for him, inheriting his father's land. James passed in 1799, only four years after William. One son Archibald, headed to North Carolina:
[Kyle J. Wear wrote – "Archibald Elliott, son of William Elliot Sr., moved to Anson Co., NC (present day Chester Co., SC) between 1748 & 1758 – his father is given power of attorney on March 18, 1758 to sell his property on the Jackson River in Augusta Co., VA."
According to M. Elaine Elliott – Archibald moved to North Carolina after an Indian attack in Augusta County. Archibald's wife, was a sister to the wife of John Elliott (who is possibly another son of William Sr's., though unproven at this time.)]
