Catherine Torrisi passed away on January 11th after a short battle with cancer. She leaves behind her husband, Louis and her sons Vincent and Nicholas.
Cathy was a retired sergeant with the NYPD. She met her husband, a detective with the NYPD, during this time. She frequently worked undercover, and years later would recall those times, saying, "I can't believe I actually used to do that!"
Upon retiring from the NYPD, Cathy had a second career teaching special education in the Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District.
Her passion for helping others and her excellent moral compass always brought her where she was needed, and because of her work here, she will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those she touched.
