Ellen Claxton is the second wife of William C. Claxton and is buried right next to him.

"I" came from W.C. Claxton's FIRST wife, Lenora A. Thomas who died while having my Great grandfather, William "E" Claxton-son of W.C. Claxton.

Aged Hawley Woman Dead

Mrs. Ellen Claxton, 81 years old and a resident of Texas since 1894 died at the home of her son D.T. Claxton near Hawley at 11:15 last night.
Her death was preceeded by an illness of about 10 days.

The funeral service will be heald at the Round Mound Cemetery at 3 o clock this afternoon and Mrs. Claxton will be laid in a grave beside her husband who died five years ago.

Born in Alabama, Mrs. Claxton came to Texas in 1894 to spend the first eleven years in this state in Ellis County. At the end of that time the family moved to this section.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters. W.R and G.W. Claxton of Abilene; D.T. and J.H. Claxton of Hawley; Mrs. Jim C. Walker and Mrs. W. M. Harris of Nugent, and Mrs. W.T Carver, Jackson, Tenn.

Laughter Undertaking company were in charge of funeral arrangements.

An obit from the Abilene Morning News dated 10-9-1934 for William M. Harris who died 10-8-1934 says his wife was the former Miss Fannie WHITE (Mrs. W.M. Harris) Obits show CLAXTONS as her siblings. Not sure how her maiden name is White when her siblings names were Claxton..

Carrie Carver was William E. Claxton's HALF sister & the daughter of W.C. Claxton.

According to her tombstone, her death date was 1928.
