This is Mable's Christening dress & socks made by her mother, (my great-great grandmother) Cornelia Wright Townsend. The dress is of course hand stitched and the socks are a fine crochet of shimmery satin-like material. It is our tradition for every baby in the family to wear the socks when they are Christened.
