Carl was born in Texas to the late Otto W. and Essie Alewine. He worked at Bird Kultgen Ford Dealer for 38 years, retiring in 1992. Carl attended schools in Robinson, Chilton, and Waco. He served in the Merchant Marines. He lived in Victoria Palms Resort in Donna, was an avid bridge player, loved traveling, and had belonged to the Dolphin Motorhome Club, of Dallas, and the Good Sam Road Runners, of Waco. Carl attended Victoria Palms Community Church, Donna, Texas.
Preceding him in death was a son, Les Alewine in January of 1992; and daughter, Lisa Alewine Owen in August of 1992.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Mildred Conaway Alewine; and grandsons, Luke Alewine and Jason Owen, both of Waco.
