SNIDER-At Merlin, May 21, 1901. C.B. Snider, aged about 62 years, of pneumonia.
Deceased was an employe [sic] of Mee's mill. He leaves a wife and five children in almost destitute circumstances. The family came to Oregon from Alma, Arkansas. The interment was at Merlin, on Wednesday, May 22nd.

Sources for Chester's birth date came from the Snider Family Bible, & for his death, the Confederate Civil War Pension application of Amanda Hatcher Snider/Snyder, his third wife, & his obituary.

On May 3, 1867, Joseph Snider and his two sons, Chester and Joseph Henry have registered to vote in Butte County, CA. It doesn't appear that they stayed long, as Joseph and Chester removed to Lake County, CA on February 20, 1869; Joseph Henry removed to Shasta County, CA on Sept. 9, 1868.
