Perry 2nd married Mrs. Susan Puterbaugh on 4 Dec 1879 in Carroll Co., IL. There were no known children produced from this marriage

Perry's name shows in an affidavit where he and his brother-in-law, John H. Blessing, made written statements to the United States Military Pension Board regarding the military service of Henry Blessing (his wife's father) during the War of 1812.

The statements were made concerning Perry's first handed knowledge to his wife's mother's marriage in Maryland, where Perry had lived with his wife Sophia at the time of the death of his wife's mother, Hannah (Zeigler) Blessing and the second marriage of Henry Blessing to Anna Maria (Wakennight) Blessing.

The old farm of Perry's is noted in the news article that describes the cyclone that hit Carroll County in May of 1898.

"A little further west on the same road is the old Perry Roderick place. The buildings here are all gone, nothing whatever being left to mark the place where they once stood save the cellar, and a few stumps of trees, and even these are completely denuded of their bark. Trees as large as two feet in diameter are twisted squarely off, fences are gone, the timbers and boards of which the buildings were composed are gone --totally obliterated. A stranger would drive along the road without the faintest suspicion that a comfortable farm home, with its auxiliary outbuildings had ever been reared here."

"The buildings on the farm occupied by Wallace Williams were partly damaged and the machinery belonging to Mr. Williams which was stored at the old Roderick homestead was completely ruined and the buildings scattered to the four winds. 25 hogs, 2 cows, and 2 horses were killed. Mr. Williams places his loss at $3,000, including buildings on premises, part of which loss is sustained by Mrs. Olive C. Holmes."
