The patriarch of an old Galveston family BOI Henry L. Homrighaus, Sr. has finished his tour of duty and is returning to his master God almighty. Born on June 23, 1922 and was 92 years old. Henry was a World War II Naval veteran and served in combat in the South Pacific. His loving wife of 71 years Frances Artive Homrighaus went to prepare their place in heaven on April 3, 2014. They were the proud parents of eight boys who were all BOI's. Sons Henry Jr., George Edward, Gerald Dennis (Bear) deceased, twins Robert Lee and Ronald Lee deceased, Martin Dee deceased, Christopher Michael and Thomas John Homrighaus. Remaining members of the Homrighaus family to carry on are Henry L., Jr. George Edward, Chris and wife Carol Homrighaus and Thomas Homrighaus. Grand children are Henry L., III and wife Mary, Stephen Mark and wife Wendy, Jason and wife Caroline, Corinna, Heidi and Amber Booth. Great grandchildren are Joseph, Jason, Hondo, Rosemary, Conner, Corbin, Caysen, Jackson Robert, Katherine Homrighaus, Dorian Harris and Kaleb Matthews.
After World War II Henry supported his wife and family by long shoring, working for the Schlitz beer distributorship and as the central station manager for A.D.T. Security Services. He was a proud Galvestonian and terrific swimmer swimming great distances with now deceased life guard Columbo. Henry was a member of the Royal Palm Society and his palms are in many locations around the island most notable at St. Mary's Cathedral and the Galveston Country Club.
Service will be conducted through Malloy & Sons Funeral home located at 3028 Broadway, Galveston, Texas 409-763-2475. Friday , June 5, 2015 service are 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM for family, 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for friends and 6:00 PM is the Rosary.
The funeral mass will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church located at 35th. St. and Broadway on June 6, 2015 at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery located on 61 St. with the entrance at 2501 65th. Street, Galveston, Texas. There will be a reception to follow at the St. Patrick's Parish Hall adjacent to the church.
