Mary Lincoln Madden was born in Campbell County, Tennessee the daughter of William "A." and Malinda Tuggle (Cooper) Madden. Most of the family moved to Denton County about 1878.
She married James A. Madden, the son of her father's brother. They had several children. In the early 1900s they moved to Ardmore Indian Territory.
Mary was a wonderful Bible teacher who invested her time in the youth and always welcomed others to her home. She welcomed her niece, Hattie Mae Madden, when she moved from Tennessee as a young woman. Many pictures of family reunions show her love for her family.
