Robert J. Furnia Sr., a resident of Pulaski, NY since 1990 and formerly of Marcellus, NY passed away Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
Robert was born in Chateaugay, NY and was the son of Clarence and Mary Harness Furnia. He graduated from Malone High School and Canton ATC. Robert married Claudia Hollis on September 27, 1997. He founded, owned, and operated Furnia Realty, LLC for the past 10 years in Pulaski, NY. Prior he founded, owned, and operated Dairy Concepts, Inc in Marietta, NY for many years. Robert was a member of the Oswego County Board of Realtors, NYS Association of Realtors, The Antique and Classic Boat Society, and Ducks Unlimited.
Bob thoroughly enjoyed life, meeting new people, living on beautiful Lake Ontario, and above all, the many gatherings with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his wife Claudia, two sons, Robert (Paulette) Furnia Jr., of Skaneateles, NY and Christopher Furnia of Marietta, NY, two brothers, Clarence (Barbara) Furnia of Martin City, MT and William (Nanette) Furnia of Marietta, PA, three sisters, Anna Mae (Harry) Kunsman of Baldwinsville, NY, Helen Marie (William) Peets and Janet (Lloyd) Roscoe both of Chateaugay, NY, six grandchildren, Nicole (Erin), Jared, Justin, Taylor, Garret, and Bradley, one great grandson, Anthony. Robert was predeceased by two brothers John (Marilyn) and Lawrence (Colleen) Furnia.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. June 1, 2015 at Foster Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park St, Pulaski, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. June 2, 2015 at the Pulaski Congregational Church, 27 Lake St, Pulaski, NY with burial immediately following at the Pulaski Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association of CNY, 356 N Midler Ave, Syracuse, NY 13206.
