EULA MAUDE HUNTER

Eula was born to Sechim Malow Hunter and Amanda Abanell Guy Hunter Feb. 8, 1902 in Webster Parish, Louisiana. She died Sept. 20, 1906 at age 4 years and 9 months from tetanus.

Eula Maude was to become her father's "favorite". It is said that Sechim worshipped her as he did none of his other children. After her death, he told everyone that he would never get that close to any of his children again.

When small, Eula found a quarter minted in the year she was born and Sechim put it in a container on the mantel above the fireplace for her. When he would go to town or to the store, she would try to get him to take it and buy her something, but he would not spend it. When she died, he put it in her hand and it is buried with her.

Later on Sechim was laid to rest near her in Bistineau Cemetery, Heflin, Webster Parish, Louisiana.

If she has a tombstone, I haven't found it yet. But, I plan to go back to the cemetery and make an effort to find her grave. She is not listed on any of the other list that I have.
