The wife of Richard Edgar Griffin is Nancy C Whitworth Griffin buried March 29, 1895 at Euharlee Presbyterian Cemetery, Bartow County, Georgia. Find a Grave #96566325.
I just found this in the Griffin Family Records. Dated in the 1990's:
Richard Edgar Griffin is buried at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. In the 1960's I accompanied my father Howard P Griffin and Griffin Ransom Smith on a visit to this Cemetery.
Richard's grave does not have a marker with his name but there is a stone structure to identify it. At the time of my visit I was not aware that other ancestors were buried in this cemetery nor was my father. I am not certain if the Church still exists. It is north of Cassville.
Sarah A.L. "Sallie" Jones Owens #40253118 is buried at Mt. Zion who is the mother of Sallie Irene Owens Griffin who is married to Preston Coatsworth Griffin the Grandson of Richard Edgar Griffin. Ransom Lafayette Griffin # 36206558 is married to Martha Jane Crow #32606555. Her father William Crow, Jr.'s second wife is Susan E McEver #65517122. There are McEvers buried here along with the Owens related families.
My husband Robert Ransom's mother is Eva Marie Griffin Ransom #66618517. He remembers going to Mt. Zion Cemetery to help clean up.
Cassville was leveled October 30, 1864. Sherman occupied the area and certainly Richard died at a very distressful time for all of his family as the all lived in Cassville as listed on the 1860 Census.
