Jule F. Fowler (86), a lifetime resident of Lyon County, Kansas, died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Holiday Resort, Emporia.

Cremation is planned, with a memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home. Gene Smerchek, a lifelong friend, will officiate. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Chicago Mound Cemetery, Emporia. Memorial contributions to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Jule Francis Fowler, the son of Andrew Ireland and Ethelyn Frances Torrens Fowler, was born October 19, 1928 in rural Lyon County. He married Imogene Day on November 16, 1949 in Emporia. She survives of the home.

Other surviving members of the family include: children, Julie Huffman of Fountain Green, Utah, Jim Fowler of Emporia, Janet Budd of Emporia, Jeanne Williams of Nowata, Oklahoma, Joanie Harris of Nipomo, California, and Judy Powell of Nowata, Oklahoma; brother, Merel Fowler of Emporia; two sisters, Hazel Curtis of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and Lynda Hardesty of Emporia; sixteen grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Jeff and Jery Fowler. Jule was an electrician for 60 years, working through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union #226. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Jule loved his large family and worked hard to provide and care for them. He also found great joy in teaching others from the Bible as a Minister and also volunteering as an electrician on the Regional Building Committee, working on many Kingdom Hall builds across the State of Kansas.
