David Lee Beahr, Sr., 72, of Aylett, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 6, 2011.

He was the son of the late John Henry and Jenny Tucker Beahr; and was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Mundie Beahr; sisters, Barbara Beahr Carter and Diane Gail Stanley; brother, Jerry Allen Beahr; and a sister-in-law, Ida Beahr.

He is survived by his wife, Anne L. Beahr; children, David Lee Beahr Jr. and wife, Wendy, Pamela Beahr Schrage and husband, Jerry, Tracie Beahr Myers and husband, Carlton and John Clary; 11 grandchildren, Dustin Beahr, Dylan Beahr, Courtney Beahr, Justin Shelton, Aaron Shelton, Ryan Shelton, Josh Myers, Kayla Myers, Cody Myers, Alyssa Myers and Steven Ross; two great-grandchildren, Anthony Myers and Emily Kibler.

He was a loring husband, father and grandparent and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

The family received friends on Sunday, May 8, 2011, from 4pm to 6pm at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, where a funeral service was conducted on Monday, May, 9, 2011, at 1pm. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
