Jonathan Marburger, aged 89 years, 3 months, and 20 days passed away February 12, 1929. He was the oldest resident in Bernville at the time. He was the son of the late Jacob and Sallie (Lusser) Marburger.

He was a miller by trade for 35 years. Jonathan also farmed for 15 years. He had driven the old stage between Bernville and Reading for 4 years. Jonathan had been an assessor and was an active worker in the Democratic party. He was a member of the Reformed congregation of St. Thomas Church.

Jonathan was survived by his widow, Selesa (Himmelberger) Marburger; his children: Alma (Morris) Auchenbach, William, Clayton, Charles, Anson, Annie (Frank) Baker, Sallie (Frank) Ludwig, John, Emma (Harvey) Geisewite; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Marburger, Reading.

Funeral services were held from his home with further services in St. Thomas Church. Rev. Frank W. Ruth officiated. Interment in St. Thomas cemetery. Funeral director H. S. Kirkhoff was in charge.
