Glenn B. Hays, M.D., 87, formerly of Ft. Myers, Fla., died at Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, a service of Hospice of Central Pennsylvania. He was born in Newberry Township, to the late Minerva Bare Hays and Dale Hays. An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a meteorologist in the European theater. He was a 1935 graduate of the former New Cumberland High School and attended Dickinson College, Carlisle; received his Chemistry degree from Georgia Tech University, Atlanta, Ga.; and his Doctorate in Medicine from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest College, WinstonSalem, N.C., in 1950. From 1962–1965, he was a resident in Dermatology at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill. A Board certified dermatologist, Glenn practiced in Tarpon Springs and Ft. Myers, Fla. As a physician, he spent several years in Zimbabwe, Thailand, and Papua New Guinea, serving those less fortunate. For enjoyment, he hunted and traveled extensively. Surviving are his sister, Athena H. Beshore of New Cumberland; three nephews and a niece, Marvin Beshore and his wife, Anne Marie, Joy Dougherty, Kirby Beshore and his wife, Beverly, and Jed Beshore and his wife, Susan; thirteen great-nephews and nieces; and three great-great-nephews and nieces.
