...Ruth Bragg Atterberry, age 88, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Saturday evening (September 14, 1996) at the home of her son in Jefferson City, Missouri.
...She was born September 8, 1908, in LaPlata, the daughter of Leonard Oren and Susan Dea (Wright) Bragg. On March 26, 1932, in LaPlata, she married Claib B. Atterberry, who preceded her in death on September 8, 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Leo Bragg.
...Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Meryl Atterberry of Jefferson City, and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lois Dampf of Jefferson City and Mable and George Davis of Moberly, one grandson, David Atterberry, of Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, one nephew, Gary Bragg of Peoria, Illinois, and a niece, Sue Davis of Terre Haute, Indiana.
...Mr. Atterberry was a graduate of the LaPlata High School. She was a homemaker and was an active member of the Illinois Bend Christian Church, LaPlata. She belonged to a number of clubs in the community over her lifetime, including the American Legion Auxiliary, Reynolds-Martin Post #282, and was a member of the Macon County Democratic Committee and the Macon County Democratic Club for many years.
...Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday (September 18, 1996) at the Travis Funeral Chapel, LaPlata, with the Reverend Dewayne Wellborn of Kirksville officiating.
...Organist will be Kay Rohrbough. Burial will be in the LaPlata Cemetery, La Plata, Missouri.
...Pallbearers will be Romaine Turner, Marvin Seidt, Teddy Wait, Vic Lehr, Jim Naughton and Junior Green.
...Visitation will be Tuesday evening (September 17, 1996) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri.
