Donald A. Rauckhorst, Sr.

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Donald A. Rauckhorst, Sr., 95, went home to be with the Lord December 28, 2013.

Mr. Rauckhorst was born in Akron and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1950. He was one of nine children born to George and Grace Rauckhorst. He was a proud member of the Boilermaker's Union, a longtime member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a Veteran of World War II having served with the U.S. Army. He was an active member and past commander of VFW 1065 and a member of the Cootie Club.

Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Pearl F.; and grandson, Zachary Scarpellini; he is survived by his daughters, Donna R. Rauckhorst of Stow, Denise (Allen) Scarpellini of Louisville, Ky., Dawn Scott of Akron; son, Donald Rauckhorst, Jr. (Barbara) of Silver Lake; grandchildren, Alicia, James, Donna, Jason, Eric, Marc; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial Dec. 31 in St. Joseph's. Interment Oakwood Cemetery.
