Mrs. Leander Newell, died at Belmont last week after an illness of only a few days. She was formerly of Pineville, and her body was brought here and interment was at Flint Hill church yard. Miss Newell is survived by her husband and seven children, and one brother, Mr. H (R. H.) Heflner (Hefner), of this vicinity.

She was the daughter of Rebecca Miller Heffner (Hefner) (14 Jan 1848 - 2 Jan 1916 and Jonas W. Hefner.
