GMG1 Larry Emerson Hendrick, Vietnam Veteran, native of Oakwood, Virginia

GMG1 Larry Emerson Hendrick was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Navy, GMG1 Hendrick served our country until October 30th, 1970 in Quang Ngai, South Vietnam. He was 30 years old and was married. It was reported that he drowned while trying to rescue other servicemen when his small craft capsized. He was born in Oakwood,Va, on March 3rd, 1940. His body was recovered. GMG1 Hendrick is on panel 06W, line 02 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for more than 10 years.

He is the husband of Mrs Carol Scott Hendrick, of Oceana. Father of one daughter Terrance Elisha Hendrick of the home. He is the Son of Mr and Mrs Fred Hendrick, Route 2, Bluefield, WV.
