She married first Ross Burns on Feb. 5, 1850 in Mt. Gilead, Morrow, Ohio. Approximately two years after they were married he was elected sheriff of Morrow county, Ohio for two terms. They separated or divorced around 1860. In 1866 Ross served as Mayor of Topeka, Kansas, and he later was the Democratic nominee for Attorney General of Kansas.
Mary married second Dr. Benjamin Franklin Sparr on Dec. 15, 1860 in Hamilton county, Ohio.
In 1883 she lived at 53 St. John's Place in Brooklyn, New York. She died at 341 Hancock St.
She had at least four children by her first husband and two children by her second husband.
