Deceased Name: CLOPTON, CARRIE LOU TWEED

CLOPTON, CARRIE LOU TWEED, age 86, of Birmingham, Alabama, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999. Several times president and Lifetime Member of Presbyterian Women, she also taught Sunday School in Knoxville and Nashville, Tennessee, Meridian, Mississippi, and Birmingham. She joined South Highland Presbyterian in 1956 where she advised the Senior High Fellowship and often took them to Montreat, North Carolina for camp. An avid reader and former teacher, she instilled a love for books in all her family.
Survivors include: her beloved husband for 63 years, James M. Clopton of Birmingham; daughter, Larry Ann Bridgman and husband, Stewart, of Staunton, Virginia; daughter, Linda Clopton of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter, Cara Lin Bridgman of Taiwan; grandson, James C. Bridgeman and wife, Carrie Mook Bridgman of Springfield, Virginia; grandson, Stewart G. Bridgman, Jr. and wife, Allen Booth Bridgman of Louisville, Kentucky; great grandson, Benjamin J. Bridgman of Springfield; and sister, Doris T. Brokaw of Canton, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, April 2, at South Highland Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to the Campus Counseling Center, UAB Inc., P. O. Box 55104, Birmingham, AL 35255, or to South Highland Presbyterian Church
