Olympic Gold Medalist (1928 Ice Hockey). Charlie Delahey was born in Pembroke, Ontario, and rose to amateur prominence in hockey and football. He was a member of the Varsity Grads when they represented Canada at the 1928 Winter Olympics. Delahey brought a gold medal back from that tournament and added an Ontario Rugby Football Union title when the Varsity Orfuns took the 1928 championship. Charlie moved to Montreal, where he played football with the Montreal Winged Wheelers and hockey with the Montreal Royals. After his playing career Delahey returned to Toronto but stayed active with the curlers at the Granite Club and the golfers of York Downs and Lambton Golf Clubs. Charlie Delahey passed away in Muskoka, Ontario.
