"Therese A. Grimm, 70, Wamego, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Newman Regional Health Center in Emporia, Kansas.
On October 5, 1944, Therese Grimm was born in West Point, Nebraska to Joseph and Agnes (Brehmer) Nacke. She graduated from Archbishop Bergen Catholic High School in Fremont, Nebraska. She was a waitress at the Friendly Cooker, Kirby’s in Manhattan, Johnnies Steakhouse and the Country Club in Columbus, Nebraska.
Therese enjoyed knitting, word search puzzles, reading and cooking. She was known around town for her beautiful flower garden in front of her house. She also loved dancing at polka festivals.
She is survived by two sons: Michael (Angie) Grimm, Amarillo, TX, and Shawn Grimm, Houston, TX; a daughter: Jessie Jordan and significant other, Johnny Whearty, Emporia, KS; four sisters: Loyola (Rich) Rosno, Grand Island, NE, Trilvian Cerny, Fremont, NE, Sally (Bob) Price, The Colony, TX, and Connie (Keith) Weinzetl, The Colony, TX; one brother: Hubert Nacke and significant other, Luisa, California; six grandchildren: Justin Jordan, Kellay Herrera, Shelby Jordan, Logan Grimm, Mallory Grimm, and Victor A. Lezama, Jr.; and one great-grandchild: Julie Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Daniel Nacke.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego. Therese will lie in-state Friday, April 17, 2015 from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. with visitation to follow from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family has suggested memorials to go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the American Heart Association and may be left in care of the Stewart Funeral Home, PO Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547."
