Killed in service while serving in the U.S.
Army Air Corps, when C-46D Commando
#44-77432 crashed on takeoff, due to a
mechanical failure.

Two other airmen were killed, and another
died the following day from injuries.
Apparently, the pilot survived.

Son of Arthur, Sr. and Julia G. Carroll.

2nd Lt. Charles Bailey
PFC Gerald E Borchard
Pvt. Robert Borge
