Erma Ruth Harden, 85, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015.

She was born November 16, 1929, in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (Goeckler) Anderson. She was a 1947 graduate of Silver Lake High School.

Erma was an assistant manager for Dunkin Donuts in Topeka for many years.

She was a member and sang in the choir at Bethel Community Church and was a member of Bethel Community Club. She volunteered at Midland Hospice for 10 years and also volunteered at Washburn University and Silver Lake Senior Center.

Erma married Ova Henry Harden on May 15, 1948 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on July 8, 1999. Survivors include a son, Kenneth (Cindy) Harden, Cocoa Beach, FL; and two daughters, Kathy (Jr.) Hogle, Topeka and Pamela (Sanford) Pittenger, Wake Forest, NC; seven grandchildren, Kari Kovach, Chad Daane, Jason (Lori) Hogle, Kristine (Johnny) Labrador, Scott (Tiffany) Pittenger, Brandon (Alicen) Pittenger and Brock (Erin) Pittenger; 10 great-grandchildren, Jamisen Kovach, Lindsay (Jon) Favre, Chase (Amber) Labrador, Bethanie Hogle, Ellington Hogle, Braden Hogle, Addison Pittenger, Gracen Pittenger, Knox Pittenger and Becca Pittenger; two great-great-grandchildren, Harper and Ava Favre; and three siblings, Marie Reeder, Marshall, MO, C. Duane “Hap” (Marcia) Anderson, Silver Lake, KS and Dean (Connie) Anderson, Topeka.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Virginia Baker and a brother, Wilbur Anderson.

Erma enjoyed cooking, sewing, quilting, gardening, sports, especially watching her family participate in sports and loved NASCAR racing. She was devoted to her church and family.

Erma will lie in state from 12-2:30 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., Friday at the Bethel Community Church, 6944 NW Landon Rd, Topeka, KS 66618.

A celebration of life service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Bethel Community Church. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery, Topeka.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Community Church or to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606.
