On the 1900 Lexington, VA census, I found Pro (proprietor?) Lexington Hotel FRANK Brockenbrough, 50, Sep 1849, married 19 years to wife M Sarah A, 52, Jun 1847, had 2 kids, both living: daughters Mary L, 18 and Ella P., 17; boarders: Marguite Edmons, 49; hotel clerk ROBERT L OWEN, 28; Ne___ (nephew?) Edward C Paxton, 14 and 3 servants: Isiah Boland, 38; Charles C Alderson, 38 and Rose Walls, 20, all VA born.
It appears future son in law Robert L. Owen, was working for and living with his boss.
