Funeral services were held for Ernest C. Chaney, 89, at the Windom Baptist Church, Sunday. The Rev. Truman Hawkins, pastor of the Windom Baptist Church, officiated.
Interment was made in the Windom Cemetery.
Mr. Chaney was born July 17, 1867 in Tennessee, the son of C. J. Chaney and Martha Arnold Chaney.
He died in a Bonham hospital July 21, 1956, where he had been a patient for three weeks.
Survivors are five sons, Roy Chaney of Windom, Frank Chaney of Commerce, Joe Chaney of Honey Grove, Hugh Chaney of Royse City and Earl Chaney of Damon; four daughters, Mrs. Flora Keeley of Garland, Mrs. Vera Wheeler of Amarillo, Mrs. Mary Lou Rigsby of Wichita Falls and Mrs. Martha Jane Rigsby of Windom; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
