Obituary Notice: Maxine W. Shugarts

Maxine W. Shugarts, 84, of Mt. Laurel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield, passed away on Dec. 14, 2011 at Mt. Laurel.
She was born on March 9, 1927, in Clearfield, the daughter of Elmer B. Lumadue, Sr., and Anna (Sandstorm) Lumadue.
Mrs. Shugarts was a homemaker.
She was affiliated with The Lighthouse Evangelical Church.
Mrs. Shugarts is survived by a daughter, Susan C. Douglas of Davisburg, MI, a granddaughter, Sierra Douglas of Davisburg, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Leslie “Shug” Shugarts, who passed away on Nov. 3, 1996, five brothers; John, Elmer Jr., Ernest, Robert and Norman Lumadue, and five sisters; Evelyn Tomb, Grace Husted, Marjorie, Amy and Dora Lumadue.
Honoring Mrs. Shugart’s wishes there will be no public visitation.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Ryan Graham officiating. Interment will be in Stoneville Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc., Clearfield.
