Cathoner accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Ethel High School and later graduated from Train CO Driving School in Joliet. For many years Cathoner was employed at Bellfuel as a truck driver.
His father Johnny Carr and two sisters Fannie Mae Carr and Jacquelyn Walker preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memeories a devoted wife Viola (Dolly) Carr, four sons, Toesia Carr, Roger Greene, Shawn Greene and Malcolm Greene all of Harvey, IL; four sisters, Dianna (Tyrone) Dent of Ethel, MS; Christine (James) May, Bonnie Carr and Willie Mac Carr all of Fort Worth, TX; three brothers, Fred Alston of Durant, MS; Robert Bailey of Milwaukee, WS and Joe Carr of Ethel, MS; two brothers-in-laws, Osburn (Barbara) Jones and Lorenzo Jones; two sisters-in-law, Florence Blunt of Hush Tin, GA and Vera (Eddie) Williams of Chicago, IL; seven grandchildren Kia Carr, Jacquel, Mieah, Saida, Journey, Johnica and Shade and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous long time friends.
