Man's Body Found in River 15 Miles to South of City

Jumped in Trinity near McKinney Viaduct and Recovered at Hutchins

About fifteen to twenty river miles below the point at which was believed to have taken his life by jumping into the Trinity River Monday morning, the body of William E. May, of Eagle Ford Road, was found Thursday, near Lock and Dam No. ?, below Hutchins. He jumped in the river at the McKinney Avenue viaduct Deputy Sheriff's said.
The body was found by Walter Sills and Carl Renfro, friends of the May family and who have been aiding firemen and deputies in the search since Monday. Using a motor boat, firemen went down the river from the Holmes Street bridge and brought back the body.
His death was caused by drowning suicidal, Justice of the Peace Joe B. Brown said in a verdict returned after conducting a coroner's inquest.
Mr. May, a retired carpenter, had been a resident of Dallas County for fifty-one years. Surviving him are his wife; five sons, Leamon May, L. H. May, R. E. May and E. L. May of Dallas and C. O. May of Wichita, Kan.; a brother, E. A. May of Dallas, and three sisters, Mrs. Ella Burch, Mrs. Ollie Moore and Mrs. Viola Leatherman, all of Dallas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Kitt Cemetery near Irving, with the cortege leaving the Lamar & Smith Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m.
